This article being published in a journal that serves a particular niche – global health governance – and not indexed in pubmed, I suspect that not many of you have seen it. However, followers of the health systems strengthening platform must have found its text already on the platform website that is hosted by the WorldBank (http://bit.ly/nOpz7Q ), which is, by the way, updated.

The article givers a nice overview and classification of several health systems frameworks (which we have also partly presented in the annex of our monograph Analysing Health Systems (http://bit.ly/r9XE7l ). Their roadmap to come to health systems strengthening in practice was still rather rough; I suspect that a detailed (participatory) observation and policy analysis of the movements of actors in this domain would lead to more enriching lessons and suggestions. It shows the constraint of time elapse between academic publishing and policy in practice.
